About Kate Sheppard~~


Kate was recognised as a Leader and an influencer. Also, New zealand was the very first country to let women vote. Kate Shepard was a strong and diligent leader which can surpass other strong politicians around her time and until now. Kate was married to William Sidney Lovell-Smith and had a child named Douglas Sheppard.


Her early life~~


Kate's full name was Kathrine Wilson Malcom and was born on the 10th of March 1847. Her parents were named Jenima and Andrew. Their job during that time was being a Scots. (Surveillance & Control of Transmission Systems) Then they moved From Liverpool to London and back to Scotland  where Kate was educated. She was given a good education and was praised for intelligence. Her father passed away in 1862 and a few years later her mother and siblings moved to New zealand  on the 8th of February 1869. Her family settled in Lyttelton and found out her other sister, Marie Beath, was already living in Christchurch.

My opinion about kate~~

In my  opinion, Kate Sheppard is one of the best leaders in her generation, she proved that girls can vote and that women can do anything they like. She Impacted New Zealand with powerful quotes and strong actions for women to get the right to vote.
